REASONS FOR JUDGMENT

CORRIGENDUM

MADE pursuant to the Urgent Agreed Memorandum of Counsel signed and dated 27th day of May 2026.

WHEREAS the sentence dated 30th April 2026 at paragraph 16 of same records that the total sentence of defendant Stanley Iaput was 4 years and 8 months having been accumulated with the sentence of 2 years and 2 months for his previous conviction, this being an accidental slip and error,

I Order that the sentence issued be recalled and corrected – 

a)    In paragraph 16 by deleting after the 4th sentence the following:
“ His end sentence is therefore 2 years and 6 months. I Order that this period be added to his current sentence of 2 years and 2 months not suspended. His total sentence shall now be 4 years and 8 months.”

b)    Immediately after the 4th sentence which states:
“ His end sentence is therefore 2 years and 6 months, “  add the following:
“ This end sentence shall be backdated to 19th October 2025 on which he was first remanded in custody”

c)    In paragraph 13 of the sentence by deleting the words:
which is still currently in force” appearing after the words “ previous conviction” in the first sentence of the paragraph.

d)    The defendant’s warrant of commitment be recalled and corrected to be consistent with this corrigendum, and re-issued.
