Senior Magistrate Moses Peter

Appointed as Magistrate of the Magistrates Court in Vila since 2010.

 I was born on 28th of November 1978 and was raised on Lelepa Island, North of Efate.  My academic journey began on Lelepa Island Primary School. Having attained primary certificate, I then went to Epi Junior Secondary School.

In 2001 I enrolled myself in Certificate in Law Programme at USP and graduated in 2006. Having attained a certificate in Law, I was admitted into Bachelor of Law Programme in 2007 and was accorded scholarship under NZAID.  I completed the Law Degree in 2010 and few weeks later, was recruited by the Judiciary of Vanuatu as a Magistrate.
I have served in the capacity as a Magistrate until 2015 when the Chief Justice invested on me appointment a Senior Magistrate.  This promotion carries with it designated responsibilities.  I was also given warrant to have supervisory role over Island Courts of Tongoa Island, Ambae Island and Pentecost Island.
I also served in the capacity of a council member in the South Pacific Conference on Youth and Children’s Court (SPCYCC) which is held annually in different jurisdictions of the South Pacific.
I am married with 3 children (2 boys and a girl).
